I am making a list to keep track of all the things I would like to discuss and share with you all.
Although I am still learning about life as a partner, mother, and woman, I read many things this evening that made me thankful to have the knowledge I already have. I am beyond upset about some parenting practices in the US. I shake my head when I see parents doing certain things that seem to defy natural human instincts and baby’s needs all in the name of some book. Sometimes I think even the most mature and successful couples have unrealistic views about parenting and imagine their life with a baby in a way that promotes what is convenient for them, despite what their baby needs. I will try not to fly off the handle, here, so before going on a huge rant about all these topics (which I am somewhat resisting the urge to do) I am just going to write my list, call it a night, and maybe vent to Dave about how happy and lucky I am to have him :)
Attachment parenting
Baby wearing
Breastfeeding
Cesareans
Circumcision (no, thanks)
Cloth diapering - posted about diaper registry and why we are doing cloth

Cry-it-out method/”Babywise” (no, thanks)
Midwifery/Doulas in childbirth
Evidence-based research
Genderizing children
Home/natural/water birth

..those are the only ones I can think of right now. If you see something that you’d like me to talk about in particular or are curious about a topic not mentioned, please email or comment and I will do my best to get to it.
