Intro

This is exciting. I have wanted to join the blogging world for a long time but I never felt like I had enough to say that was important. But importance is not the point, as I have come to realize. Dave tells me that I have plenty to talk about, being a doula and part of the pregnancy/birth/kid world for so long. I talk his ear off and then he says that he wishes I had written it down. He is biased, though. He trusts what I learn most of the time and takes my thoughts and feelings to heart.

So, I will now join the millions of people who feel like they have something to share. I am still growing and learning, and what I believe about pregnancy and childbirth is my own opinion that is still changing. I am going to write from my heart and sometimes talk about ideas and issues that some may find unconventional, strange, hurtful, or wrong because they did/do something different. I especially welcome and encourage responses and questions for those things you are curious about.

I want to do this for Dave, for our friends and family who take an interest in our lives, for myself, and for this little one to read someday. Anyone else who stumbles across is welcome to read, too.

Dave might even throw in posts from time to time – I’m sure he has plenty to share about what it’s like to take care of me and prepare for fatherhood. This is one of the most important things I will do while this baby is growing (besides staying healthy) and I am thankful for anyone who takes an interest in reading.
