So my mom is throwing us a baby shower this weekend, but due to the 18-24 inches of snow that the DC area is supposed to get, over half our guests probably won't be able to make it. The snow in Richmond won't be bad, it's the snow further north that will probably keep folks from leaving their house.
I am on the verge of falling apart because we both have been looking forward to this day for a long time. It's been months since Dave and I have really socialized due to my hyperemesis and our busy convention schedule. Having all our friends together in one place means a lot to me and it's a way to reconnect with everyone who we haven't seen in a while. I needed this day to feel excited about the baby's arrival and to feel all the love and excitement from our friends, too.
There's not really going to be another chance to re-do the baby shower because it was hard enough for people to fit it into their plans in the first place... I'm just really sad and I wish the weather could have come one day later.
Hey, I really hope things turn around and more of us DC people can show up. I know we'll be there because I understand the wanting to share and celebrate with friends (part of the reason I'm co-host of my own baby shower >.<). If nothing else, we'll make the best of your day with those who do show up. I <3s y'all so much!
